Us creative folk are sensitive to life, to the things we see, the environment around us, the smells, the touch and the effect that it has on our senses.
Super creative Claire Lloyd takes the concept of the spaces we live and work in to a whole new level. She lives and breathes her concept called Sensual Living.
The beautiful spaces you see below in this post were all created by Claire. She has a rigorous approach to designing and creating spaces that goes down to the last detail, yes folks even her nails and wood joins are pretty!
‘All I want to do is make things beautiful’ were the words we started our chat with yesterday and is the basis of how she creates.

The pursuit of beauty is what motivates her, it’s innate, everything she does in her life, the way she designs, cooks, chooses textures, puts spaces together is about beauty and nurturing.
When you walk into one of her spaces it’s like meditating without sitting down and doing it. The space does that for you. There are delightful scents of cloves softly burning, textures of cashmere, a repurposed old table in some interiors and a sleek white ballet floor in others. She adapts her spaces to their location, all smart and slick in London and authentic and huggable on her Greek Island. No matter where they are, you feel an instant sense of comfort, peace and nurturing. Her spaces are as generous as she is.
The late great female Pritzer prize winner Zaha Hadid was such a fan, she fell in love with one of Claire’s spaces and made it her home.

Claire’s long love affair working and producing beauty has seen her work with Vogue, take the position of art director on many magazines including The World of Interiors to a freelance career working with the likes of Jo Malone.
I can’t wait for the day I hand her the key to my place and let her work her magic!!!

The bespoke menu is long painting, illustrating, photography, wreath making, authentic Greek cooking, history lessons with the locals and of course learning how to create sensual spaces from the master herself.
Claire and Matthew are rare hosts and I can proudly be testimony to that as a couple of years ago I had the special opportunity to road test this beautiful retreat.
And if you are one of the lucky ones to go, give the cats and dogs a hug from me.
“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures that we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.” Jawaharlal Nehru
